Wills

A will is one of the most important legal documents you will create. It sets out how your assets are distributed, who administers your estate (the executor), and how your loved ones are cared for after your passing. If there is no will or if the executor does not act, someone else, such as a family member, may go to court for authorization to settle the estate by requesting a grant of administration.

At Summit Point Law, we understand that every client’s circumstances are different. We take the time to understand your family situation, assets, and goals before preparing your will. Whether you have a straightforward estate or more complex planning needs, we provide practical advice tailored to your needs.

Power of Attorneys

A Power of Attorney allows you to appoint someone you trust to manage your financial and legal affairs if you become unable to do so yourself. This can include paying bills, managing bank accounts, dealing with property, and handling other financial matters. Without a valid Power of Attorney, your loved ones may be required to apply to the court for authority to manage your affairs, a process that can often be costly and time-consuming. At Summit Point Law, we help clients prepare Powers of Attorney that are clear, effective, and tailored to their needs.

Personal Directives

A Personal Directive allows you to appoint someone to make personal, medical, and healthcare decisions on your behalf if you lose capacity. This can include decisions about medical treatment, living arrangements, and personal care. At Summit Point Law, we assist clients in preparing Personal Directives that clearly reflect their values, wishes, and expectations.
